Esta es una entrevista que le hice a un vampiro real. Su nombre es Steve Leighton y es autor de la página http://vampirewebsite.net/ una de las webs de vampiros reales más visitadas. De hecho es el primer link que te aparecerá si pones en google «Real Vampires»
Otra cosa importante es que el sitio es útil tanto para vampiros, como para curiosos (así lo describe él)
Sus respuestas fueron breves, si quieres saber más del tema su página tiene mucha información que puede complementarlas. Por ahora está disponible sólo en inglés, pero Steve planea traducir su sitio a diferentes idiomas próximamente.

Many people, specially the ones that desperately want to become vampires have trouble realizing the difference between fiction and reality. Can you describe the main differences between both worlds?
SL: We can’t fly
MKB: Hahahaha ok, fair enough. I guess any transforming into flying animals is also out of the table too.

Most of them don’t seem very nice (if you are one), they even seem a bit dangerous. Why coming out and face all that stuff when you can be safe being secretive or just sharing it with your closest ones?
SL: None of them are dangerous in the end, and end result is just some thing you have to see to understand.
MKB: Talking about dangerous, there are many people posing as vampires offering to “turn” other people and arrange meetings. The problem is that it can be risky to meet with a total stranger who may or may not be a true vampire. Which advice would you give to everyone who desires to arrange this kind of meetings so they don’t put themselves in risk?
SL: Use common sense.
MKB: The thing is that not many people do that, see, once I saw an interview of “vampires” on the tv. They were asked about their feedings, and if they were worrired of blood trasmited diseases like AIDS. Also if they tested their donors before drinking from them. SL: That’s moronic
MKB: I know, sadly there’s people who does this kind of things. Which gets me to the next question, some vampires, just as pagans and wiccans, are part of covens or groups. How can you tell if the coven is genuine? Which could be some warning signs that tell you the coven is abusive or just plain stupid like those on the tv?

MKB: Also, I’m sure many people are really curious about this, there is apparently an eternal debate on the question «Is a vampire born or made? In your site (forgive me if i’m wrong) you say you can be born a vampire but you also can be turned or awakened. Is there a difference between born vampires and turned ones?
SL: No
MKB: Final questions. Which is your opinion on vampire myths and fiction? Do you like it? Which is your favorite movie/book/series?
SL: I don’t know about other people but I personally I don’t watch movies for accuracy, I watch movies for entertainment.
MKB: I wasn’t talking about accurate movies, just movies that you personally like.
SL: Daybreakers was good

Siguiente pregunta, en tu web site podemos leer sobre las diferencias entre vampiros y no-vampiros y escribes sobre diferentes escenarios en caso de que los vampiros «Salgan de sus ataudes» Muchos no se ven tan bien si eres vampiro (persecución por cazadores, ambición de las personas, miedo a las cualidades de un vampiro etc…) incluso parecen algo peligrosos. ¿Por qué mostrarse y enfrentarse a todo eso cuando puedes estar a salvo contando tu secreto sólo a personas cercanas y de confianza?
SL: Ninguno es peligroso al final, y el resultado es algo que debes ver para comprender.
MKB: Hablando de peligro, muchas personas que se hacen pasar por vampiros ofrecen «convertir a otros» o acuerdan reuniones. El problema es que puede ser peligroso encontrarse con un extraño, sea vampiro o no. ¿Qué consejo puedes dar a cualquiera que desee reunirse de esta forma para no ponerse en peligro?
SL: Usen el sentido común.
MKB: El problema es que no muchas personas lo hacen, una vez vi una entrevista de “vampiros” en la tv. Se les preguntó sobre su alimentación y sobre si se preocupaban por enfermedades y por examinar a sus donantes. Respondieron que no les preocupaba. ¿Qué puedes decir sobre esto? SL: Eso es estúpido.
MKB: Lo sé, tristemente hay personas que tienen estas prácticas. Lo que me lleva a la siguiente pregunta, algunos vampiros, (así como paganos y wiccans) son parte de covens o grupos. ¿Cómo puedes saber si el coven es genuino? ¿Cuales podrían ser signos que te indiquen que el coven es abusivo o de plano estúpido como en el video anterior?

MKB: También estoy segura que hay personas con curiosidad sobre esto, ya que aparentemente hay un eterno debate sobre el tema. ¿Un vampiro nace o se hace? En tu sitio (perdona si me equivoco) tú dices que puedes nacer siendo vampiro pero también pueden transformarte o despertarte. ¿Hay alguna diferencia entre nacer y convertirte?
SL: No
MKB: Últimas preguntas, ¿Cual es tu opinión en cuanto a mitos o ficción de vampiros? ¿Te gusta? ¿Cual es tu película/libro/serie favorito(a)?
SL: No sé la demás gente pero personalmente no veo películas por que tan apegadas sean con la realidad. Veo películas por entretenimiento.
MKB: No hablaba sobre su similitud con la realidad, sino películas que personalmente te gusten.
